On June 3, 2025, the SPM² project was presented at the high-profile event “Managing EU-Funded Projects with PM²” held at the Hellenic American Union in Athens, Greece. Organized by the PM² Alliance, European Academy, and the Hellenic American Union, the forum brought together over 100 professionals involved in EU project implementation and policy development.
The event featured expert panels and presentations addressing the modernization of project management competences in the EU funding landscape, with a strong focus on sustainability and the twin green and digital transitions.
SPM² Key Contributions:
Presented as a research-based initiative for identifying and addressing sustainability-related competence gaps in EU project management
Showcased tools such as the Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) and Competency Inefficiency Index (CII) for assessing training needs
Mapped key sustainability competencies across all five phases of the project lifecycle
Positioned as a framework for developing competence-oriented training aligned with EU policy priorities, including the Green Deal and Horizon Europe expectations
Participants included EU project managers, external evaluators, public sector officials, consultants, trainers, and academic experts, creating a vibrant forum for knowledge exchange.
