From 12 to 17 May 2025, the SPM² project was featured at the Green Business Transformation Summer School, hosted by FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria. Organized in partnership with the University of Novi Sad and the CEEPUS Network – Greening Project Management, the event gathered over 50 students and experts from across Central and Southeast Europe.

The intensive 5-day programme explored sustainable business transformation and project management through lectures, mentoring, and hands-on project work. During the session “Navigating ‘Sustainability By vs. Sustainability Of’ in a Projectified World,” the SPM² project was presented as a model for embedding sustainability into the project management lifecycle.

Key Contributions:

  • SPM² was introduced as a research-driven framework for mapping sustainability competency gaps using Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) and the Competency Inefficiency Index (CII).

  • Survey data from 986 respondents across 15 countries was shared, highlighting critical training and education needs.

  • The project served as a case study in evidence-based curriculum development for sustainable project management.

Participants, primarily master’s and senior bachelor students, worked in interdisciplinary teams on real-world green transition challenges. Faculty from CEEPUS partner institutions and international guest lecturers guided the sessions.

Impact:

  • Students showed strong interest in SPM²’s empirical insights and their real-world relevance.

  • Faculty members expressed interest in adopting SPM² results for curriculum reform and research-based training design.

  • The project provided a valuable bridge between sustainability theory and practical application within EU project contexts.

Dissemination:

SPM² was integrated into the official summer school programme, shared via social media (LinkedIn), and actively discussed in workshops and mentoring sessions—enhancing its reach across the CEEPUS Green PM community.
