A hands-on training workshop titled “SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS IN ACTION: Manage the Process of Creating Your ESG Report” was held on 24 April 2025 in Novi Sad (Temerinska 111), organised by Energy Net DOO and Advise Institute DOO. The session equipped participants with practical skills to apply the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) framework in business operations and manage sustainability reporting in line with regulatory and market expectations.

The workshop combined expert-led input with interactive exercises, helping attendees:

  • understand ESG principles and how they translate into business strategy,

  • monitor and analyse ESG parameters for decision-making,

  • communicate and visualise ESG data effectively,

  • prepare sustainability reports using practical tools and real-world case examples.

SPM² project spotlight and engagement

In addition to the core ESG curriculum, the event featured a dedicated presentation of the SPM² project (Sustainable Project Management through PM²), positioning it as a practical pathway for integrating sustainability principles into project management education and training. The SPM² segment encouraged discussion on challenges and opportunities in sustainable project delivery and helped connect ESG reporting practices with sustainability-oriented project management competencies.

To support future collaboration, organisers conducted a short participant survey. Responses indicated strong interest in future SPM² trainings and workshops, with particular enthusiasm for pilot courses offering digital micro-credentials and participation in Living Lab-style projects. Several participants also asked to remain informed about upcoming SPM² activities via email updates, signalling a clear opportunity to build a longer-term community of practice.

Participation profile

The training welcomed 10 participants, with an equal gender balance (5 women / 5 men) and representation from multiple Serbian cities (primarily Novi Sad). Attendees came from a diverse mix of sectors and organisations, including academia (notably the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad), industry, legal practice, and business—creating a multidisciplinary setting well aligned with SPM²’s sustainability and competence-development focus.

Visibility

The event was promoted and shared through social media channels, helping extend its reach beyond attendees and strengthening awareness of ESG reporting and the SPM² initiative among relevant professional networks.
