Patras, Greece | May 17, 2025 – At this year’s TEDxPatras, a major platform for innovation and future-focused ideas, the PM² Alliance, European Academy, and Scientific Events – PM² Center came together to showcase a shared mission: embedding sustainability into the DNA of project management through the SPM² project.

Under the theme of systemic change and future-ready leadership, this collaboration brought the vision and tools of Sustainable Project Management through PM² (SPM²) into a global conversation on climate, education, and transformation.

From Ideas to Action: Introducing SPM² to a TEDx Audience

The TEDxPatras stage was more than just a space for ideas — it became a launchpad for practical change. Through a series of live interactions, presentations, and networking moments, the SPM² partners introduced attendees to:

  • The SPM² Guide and Digital Resource Hub, designed to help project professionals embed sustainability across all phases of project work.

  • A new modular curriculum for project management aligned with the European Green Deal, UN SDGs, and emerging labour market trends.

  • The SPM² micro-credential system, aimed at empowering both lifelong learners and early-career professionals to build certified, sustainability-aligned competences.

“We need more than awareness. We need tools, standards, and credentials to make sustainability the norm in project work — not the exception,” said Alexia Voutsina, representing all three organizing institutions at the event.

Who Was in the Room? Diverse, Curious, and Committed

TEDxPatras drew a highly diverse and engaged audience, creating a unique opportunity for dissemination and dialogue:

  • Young professionals and students looking for career paths with purpose and sustainability.

  • Educators and instructional designers seeking to upgrade curricula for the green and digital transitions.

  • Policymakers tasked with delivering on climate commitments and social equity through public programs.

  • Private sector innovators exploring partnerships in the emerging green skills economy.

The SPM² message resonated especially with those interested in practical certification and EU-aligned training systems.

Engagement Highlights: Visibility with Purpose

The SPM² presence at TEDxPatras was built for visibility and action:

  • A branded SPM² roll-up banner caught attention at the venue’s central corridor.

  • QR codes directed participants to the project’s online hub, with many downloading the SPM² Guide on the spot.

  • One-on-one conversations focused on green project credentials, curriculum integration, and partnership opportunities.

A LinkedIn post summarizing the project’s presence reached additional audiences post-event and generated new engagement.

A Clear Signal from the Field

Attendees and stakeholders welcomed the micro-credentialing vision of SPM² and its practical alignment with the PM² methodology. There was strong interest in using the SPM² framework in both academic and organizational contexts — not only to improve project success rates, but also to fulfill the climate and social responsibility mandates of the coming decade.
