The Official Kick-Off Meeting for the Erasmus+ project Sustainable Project Management through PM² (SPM²) was held on December 10–11, 2024, in Novi Sad, Serbia. Organized by the University of Novi Sad, the event brought together 14 participants from seven partner organizations representing five countries: Serbia, Poland, Greece, Belgium, and Latvia.

Held at the Science and Technology Park Novi Sad and the Advise Institute, the meeting provided the first in-person opportunity for partners to align on the project’s vision, objectives, and roadmap. Key themes included stakeholder engagement, sustainable practices in project management, and the customization of the PM² methodology to embed sustainability principles.

Highlights:

  • Strategic Planning: The partners refined their roles and responsibilities within work packages and reviewed timelines, quality assurance mechanisms, and communication strategies.

  • Interactive Workshops: Detailed sessions on Work Package 2 (Stakeholder Mapping and Needs Analysis) ensured strong alignment on methodologies and data collection.

  • Sustainability in Practice: Site visits to the Science and Technology Park and Energy Net Company showcased real-world applications of sustainable technology and innovation in the energy sector.

  • Team Building: A welcome dinner and partner introductions fostered collaboration and set a positive tone for future cooperation.

Despite a last-minute venue change due to student protests in Novi Sad, the meeting ran smoothly and effectively. Partners expressed high levels of engagement and satisfaction with the event outcomes.

Highlights from the meeting were shared via LinkedIn and added to the newly launched SPM² project website, reinforcing the project’s visibility among stakeholders and the broader professional community.

The meeting marked a confident start for the SPM² consortium, laying a solid foundation for advancing sustainable project management education across Europe.
