Kyiv, 1 April 2025 – As part of the Jean Monnet Module European Sustainable Competitiveness for Economic Resilience and Growth (ESC4ERG), hosted by the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ (NTUU KPI), the SPM² project was presented to an international audience during a high-level guest lecture delivered by Dr. Danijela Ćirić Lalić (University of Novi Sad). The lecture was delivered online and brought together over 60 participants from academia, industry, and policy circles.

Spotlight on SPM²: Competence Gaps and Curriculum Modernization

The session introduced participants to sustainable project management as a strategic enabler of Europe’s green and digital transitions. Dr. Ćirić Lalić presented the SPM² project as a data-driven model for embedding sustainability competencies into project management education and training. The lecture focused on:

  • Empirical findings from the SPM² international survey highlighting areas of critical improvement for curriculum design and professional development.
  • The pivotal role of project managers in delivering on the twin transition priorities—especially within the context of EU-funded programs such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and Interreg.

Engaging a Cross-National Audience

Attendees included students from the Jean Monnet ESC4ERG certificate program, professors from NTUU KPI, and external experts from across Europe. Participants praised the applied nature and theoretical depth of the session, noting its value for workforce upskilling and institutional innovation in higher education.

Many expressed interest in adopting the SPM² competence framework in their own teaching and training initiatives, recognizing its alignment with EU Green Deal goals and the growing demand for sustainability-oriented skills.

Impact and Outreach

The event was widely promoted through institutional channels, including Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’s official platforms and Jean Monnet ESC4ERG networks. Presentation materials were shared for further academic dissemination, and follow-up interest has been expressed regarding joint curriculum development and international collaboration.

The guest lecture not only increased the visibility of the SPM² project within Ukraine and Eastern Europe but also reinforced its positioning as a reference point for evidence-based reform in sustainability education across project-oriented disciplines.

The SPM² project continues to build bridges between sustainability science, project management practice, and education reform—empowering institutions and individuals to lead the green and digital transformation.
