A university workshop brought together Career Office teams and academic staff to explore how personalized career development approaches can support sustainability-oriented project management education and strengthen institutional capacity for competence development.
The session promoted the Sustainable Project Management through PM² (SPM²) project by presenting its goals, scope, and expected outcomes to university staff, academic advisors, and career development professionals. Discussions highlighted how SPM² aligns with personalized learning pathways, structured competence development, and the growing need to embed sustainability into professional education. Participants also received information on the project’s alignment with the EU Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), underlining its relevance for modern curricula.
A key part of the workshop demonstrated how methods and tools used in BE(A)ST—including self-reflection techniques, gap analysis, and the Occupation Business Model Canvas (BMC)—connect with SPM²’s mission to support structured, sustainability-focused project management learning.
The workshop also facilitated dialogue between Career Office staff and academic educators on how sustainable project management and personalized career guidance can be integrated into university systems. Participants explored future opportunities to embed SPM² trainings and micro-qualifications into existing institutional guidance and student development structures, helping to build a foundation for broader dissemination.
Participants included:
university Career Office staff,
academic advisors and educators,
student support professionals,
specialists in competence development and career planning.
Feedback from attendees emphasized the high usefulness of the self-reflection tools, strong potential for institutional adoption, and interest in accessing future SPM² trainings and materials.
Throughout the workshop, SPM² was highlighted as a European initiative supporting sustainability competencies and was presented during discussions focused on innovative, personalized career development frameworks.
